Can my family be home during a treatment? What if I have children?
Certainly. Our treatment techniques avoid using harmful chemicals whenever possible. Though we do ask that children not be in the room as its being treated, and that liquid treatments dry completely before allowing people to reenter.
They are safe as well! Pets are part of the family, and the same rules apply for pets as they do for people and children. Please make your Paramount Professional aware of any pets you may have, especially birds and aquatic pets, so we can make any necessary alterations to your treatment
Does every room need treatment?
No, not in most cases. We believe that an every customers pest problem is unique, and we can help you determine the most efficient and cost effective plan to fix it. Deciding whether to treat multiple rooms depends on many factors including the type of pest and where the room is located in the home, so its best to discuss it with one of our friendly staff members.
What if I see a pest after my treatment?
Call us! We’ll be happy to respond and take care of the problem, and if its during our warranty period we’ll do re-treat free of charge!
If I have pests in my kitchen, should I empty my cabinets before treatment?
In truth, it depends. In many cases the answer is no, but liquid treatments are different. For liquid treatments in cabinets, we will need you to remove food and other items prior to service so we can gain access to these areas. Food and other items can then be returned once treatment is completely dry.
How can I safely store my food if I think I have pests?
Foods like cereals and produce should be removed from boxes and bags and placed in thick plastic containers that have a tight seal. Mice and other pests can chew through cardboard and thin plastic so it is best to keep food items in well sealed containers like tupperware.
What should I do if I think my food is contaminated?
Remove it from the rest of the food supply and dispose of it immediately. House-hold pests can carry a variety of bacteria and disease, and when they come in contact with food they can easily be spread to people. Don’t take the risk, if you think its contaminated, toss it!
What is IPM (Integrated Pest Management)?
Integrated pest management is an approach to pest management that uses few or no pesticides if possible. In IPM, the main goal is pest prevention; methods that often include making small changes to a home or office instead of using chemical controls. Common methods of control include adding door sweeps around the building and sealing up areas where pipes enter the structure. Pesticides are still utilized in IPM, but the preference is for non-chemical control methods.

Do chemical treatments leave an odor?
Rarely. The materials that we use generally have no odor. When they do, they are often smells similar to house hold cleaning products, and disappear once dry. Please let us know if you are sensitive to such smells and we can always alter our treatment to suit you needs.
Will a termite treatment damage my plants and lawn?
No. Our termite specialists are highly trained and use the best treatment methods available, ensuring that your lawn and plants will stay completely unharmed.
How can I prevent pests in general?
Good house keeping and proper sanitation are crucial to preventing pests. Keeping your garbage in sealed bins away from kitchen cabinets, cleaning spilled food products, and vacuuming regularly are all great ways of preventing pests from surviving inside your home. Adding door sweeps and sealing up areas where pipes from outside enter the home will also reduce the ability for pests to get in. More prevention tips

Do I need to have an inspection before my treatment?
Not necessarily, but we do recommend having an initial inspection done to properly assess the problem and design the best treatment plan. Talking to one our staff members is the best way to determine the proper course of action, as we can answer any questions you may have.
How did I get Bed Bugs and can they be easily spread?
Bed bugs usually spread by traveling on peoples clothing and luggage, and can be picked up in homes, hotels, and a variety of public places. This is part of the reason bed bugs have become such a problem in recent years. Because of their small size and preference for hiding in hard to reach areas, bed bugs often go unnoticed and can be easily spread.
